Standard Mental Health First Aid
The 12-hour Standard Mental Health First Aid course teaches adults (18 years and over) how to provide initial support to adults who are developing a mental illness or experiencing a mental health crisis. The course curriculum is based on the MHFA Guidelines.
Youth Mental Health First Aid
The Youth Mental Health First Aid Course is for adults working or living with adolescents (those aged between 12 and 18 years), however, the course can be relevant for those helping people who are a little younger or older. This course is particularly suitable for parents, teachers, sports coaches, and youth workers.
SAFEMinds: Schools and Families Enhancing Minds
SAFEMinds is a professional learning and resource package for schools and families that aims to:
enhance early intervention mental health support for children and young people in schools; specifically regarding mild mood disorders (anxiety and depression) and self-harm
increase engagement of parents and carers with schools to more effectively support their child’s mental health; and
develop clear and effective referral pathways between schools and community youth and mental health services.

Working within a school community with children, colleagues and parents is stressful and demanding. This may result in staff needing a bit of extra support or training to manage the complex situations that often present in this environment. Elysium Psychology can provide consultation or training to staff if they request or require some additional support.
