🌿 The 5 Cs of Mental Health 🌿
At Elysium Psychology, we believe that mental wellbeing is built through small, intentional steps of care and connection.
The 5 Cs remind us of the foundations that support emotional resilience:
💛 Compassion - treating ourselves and others with kindness, especially during difficult moments.
🤝 Connection - nurturing relationships that help us feel supported, valued, and understood.
🌱 Coping - finding healthy ways to process emotions and navigate life’s challenges.
⭐ Confidence - recognising our strengths and trusting our ability to grow.
🎯 Commitment - continuing to show up for ourselves through meaningful, achievable steps.
Mental health is not about being perfect; it’s about building habits that support us through life’s ups and downs.
Which of the 5 Cs would you like to focus on this week? 💚

Public Statement - Eltham Wildcats
#Elysiumpsychology is deeply saddened and disturbed by the recent prosecution of former Eltham Wildcats CEO, Richard Irving, on child sexual offence charges.
Our thoughts are with everyone impacted by these matters. We acknowledge the distress that news of this nature causes for individuals, families, staff, volunteers, the basketball community, and our wider community.
As a community partner of the Eltham Wildcats, it is our understanding that the club and its Board acted promptly and responsibly in response to these matters and remain committed to meeting their legal and ethical obligations to protect the safety and wellbeing of players, members, volunteers and the wider community.
Elysium Psychology remains unwavering in our commitment to child safety. The wellbeing, protection and rights of children and young people are central to our values and the work we do every day. We support and advocate for robust child safe practices, strong governance, and ongoing vigilance across all organisations with which we partner.
Our partnership with the Eltham Wildcats has always been based on a shared commitment to supporting the mental health and wellbeing of the community, and on the expectation that the Victorian Child Safe Standards are implemented and upheld. We will continue to support organisations that demonstrate a genuine commitment to creating safe, inclusive and protective environments for children and young people.
We also recognise that this news may be deeply distressing, particularly for survivors of childhood sexual abuse, their families and loved ones, and anyone affected by sexual violence. If this has brought up difficult thoughts, feelings or memories for you, please know that support is available.

We all experience an inner critic - that voice shaped by past experiences, expectations, and the negative messages we absorb from the world around us. It can convince us that we are not enough, that we should be doing more, or that we don't measure up.
The presence of an inner critic is not the problem. The challenge comes when we start to believe its messages as facts and allow them to guide how we treat ourselves. When that critical voice becomes too loud, it can impact our confidence, self-worth, and the relationship we have with ourselves.
If your inner critic feels overwhelming and you would like support in developing a kinder, healthier relationship with yourself, Elysium Psychology is here to help. Call us today on (03) 9069 2103 to speak with one of our client service specialists, or visit www.elysiumpsychology.com.au for more information.
